Introducing Karen… DATI's Newest Specialist on Board

Photo of Karen Latimer.Karen Latimer is the newest member of the DATI Team. Serving as an Assistive Technology Specialist in both New Castle and Kent Counties, Karen is no stranger to the world of AT. She has decades of experience, most recently as AT Specialist at the Pennsylvania Initiative on Assistive Technology (PIAT) – DATI’s sister program in PA – and as a Student Services Coordinator for AT at Temple University’s Disability Student Services.

Prior to coming east, Karen was the CEO at TECH4U Adaptive Solutions in Phoenix, Arizona where she assisted individuals and families in finding solutions that enabled them to work, live independently, and attend school. In addition to providing individual assessments, Karen worked with employers to implement reasonable accommodations for employees with disabilities.

Karen has a degree in Deaf Education, and she has extensive background working with technology solutions for Deaf and Hard of Hearing populations. She is also fluent in American Sign Language. Over the years she has broadened her skills to include most types of AT. Karen is one of only eight individuals in Delaware to be credentialed by RESNA as an Assistive Technology Practitioner (ATP).
